Merle C. Blair passed away on March 2nd, 2024 at the age of 94. He had been a resident of the Big Horn area since the mid-1940s. Merle was born on August 4

th, 1929.

In the later 1940s he went to work for Emil Benson, who farmed west of Big Horn and in September 1948 Merle married Emil and Lora’s daughter, Phyllis Benson. To this marriage were born children Merlene, Kip, Bruce and Marcy.

In 1969 Phyllis passed away. In January of 1970 Merle married Judy Parker of Sheridan and they had a son, Joel Blair. Judy died in 1995. In August, 1996 Merle was married to Patricia Clark of Sheridan.

During the intervening years the family has been blessed with many grandchildren and some great-grandchildren.

Merle loved to share the truths he had learned from the Bible about living in a paradise as God had originally planned and he had a strong hope and faith

that he would be in that paradise.

Merle also enjoyed building things from wood for his friends. Many people today have furniture, large wooden bowls and other mementos of wood that Merle made for them. He especially loved working with oak.
