View Service FolderDoris Kemnitz passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on September 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. Doris was born on September 12, 1933 in DeKalb, Illinois to Leonard and Vivian Switzer.Doris had numerous jobs throughout her life, but what she loved most was spreading God’s love through pastoring with her husband Ray at numerous churches in the state of Washington. She retired to Sheridan in 2001 where she was active in the social life at Heritage Towers. Doris continued her ministry by leading various Bible studies and volunteering whenever possible. She was a member of First Christian Church. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family, especially her great- grandchildren. They will always remember baking, playing cards, dominos, doing puzzles and coloring with their “GiGi”. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ray, her parents, her brotherAllen Switzer, her sisters Rita Gannon and Carol Switzer and her daughter Lynette Taylor. She is survived by her children Becki (Dave) Youngren of Sheridan, Elise (Ray) Tipton of Forks, WA, Allen Scoughton, and Laura (Roy) Howard of Trout Creek, MT, grandchildren Brian (Jennie) Youngren, Amy (Cody) Wilson, Jennifer (Anthony) Tarver, Heather (Chad) McQuiston, Justin Howard, Jessica Matthews, Elizabeth Matthews, Shawn Hill, Kim Shephard, Duane Atkinson, and Tara Atkinson. Those who brought the most joy to GiGi’s heart were her great-grandchildren Bailee, Jesse, Jenna, Vivian, Anna, Austin, Braden, Courtney, Brogan, Alexa, Cameron, Damion, and great-great-granddaughter Alora.A Celebration of Life service for Doris will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 11:00 am at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating.In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hospice of the Big Horns located at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, 1401 W. 5th Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
