Eric Peterson, age 79, of Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away at his home on Tuesday September 9th. Eric was born on May 7, 1946, in Newcastle, Wyoming, Eric lived a life rooted in hard work, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to family.

Eric spent many years as a skilled vehicle mechanic at Cook Ford, later continuing his career at Fremont Ford. Known for his generosity and expertise, he was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family in need of car repairs or good ol advice.

On , June 1, 1970, Eric married the love of his life, Sandy Bocek. Together, they built a life full of adventure and joy. Whether spending time on the ranch, enjoying picnics, or camping in the Big Horn Mountains, Eric and Sandy embraced each day with gratitude and love. Although they didn’t physically travel the world, Eric and Sandy explored their bucket list destinations virtually—side by side. From the comfort of their home, they went on many adventures together, discovering new places and cultures through screens and stories.

Eric was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sheridan, faithfully attending services every Saturday. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, especially during the past three years as Sandy faced medical challenges. Through it all, Eric remained a steadfast source of love and support.

Eric is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Anton Peterson and Laura Ruby King; siblings Claude Kenneth (Sonny) Peterson, Darla Jean Daly, John Otto Peterson, George Dallas Peterson, and Loretta Herrington.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Peterson (Bocek); siblings Cleo (George) Haler, Marian (Leonard Couch) Black, and Laura Lynn (Floyd) Bennett; brothers-in-law John Bocek and Jim Bocek; sister-in-law Patty (Earl) McKey; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.

Eric’s life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
