Evelyn May Deibel was born in Akron, Ohio on January 13, 1925 to Martin Deibel and Sue (Pamer). Deibel joining her sister Rosemary (Wavie) who affectionately called Evelyn “Babe”. Evelyn passed peacefully away at Greenhouse Living in Sheridan, WY on September 13, 2025 at the age of 100 years and 8 months. Evelyn was baptized in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, on the 12 th of April 1925. Evelyn graduated high school in Akron, Ohio on June 6, 1942. She was joined in marriage to Dale William McNabb on April 17, 1948. On August 20 th , 1953 they adopted a 3 month old son whom they named Kevin William McNabb. Evelyn was a committed Christian that loved to sing in the choir and participated in the quilting group of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sheridan WY .

Throughout her life she loved traveling with her husband Dale and visiting family and friends. Evelyn was an avid cook and even printed recipe books. She was best known for her German Stew. Evelyn also loved her sweets, baking cookies and Texas sheet cake with the frosting being thicker than the cake.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Sue Deibel, her sister Rosemary (Harold) Krausman and her husband Dale McNabb.

She is survived by her son Kevin (Shauna) McNabb, Dayton, WY; her nephew Ronald Krausman; nieces Rita Simpson, and Janine (Ralph) Sharp, all of Florida. Grandchildren Jason McNabb, Liberty (David) McCrady, Tori (Tanner) Laverdiere, and Ryan Matteson. Great grandchildren; Cheyenne McNabb, Jameson McNabb, and Julian Matteson. Nephews; Lyle BMcNabb, Mike McNabb, Greg and Dennis Quigley. Nieces; Linda Mueller, Sherry Taylor, and Robbie Kirstein. And numerous other great and great great nephews and nieces.

Special thank you to the wonderful caring staff at Greenhouse Living that she enjoyed teaching German to.

A Celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. Inurnment will take place after the reception in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Martin Luther Grammar School, 1300 W 5 th Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.
