Frances “Mickey” Caroline Speer Parker, 98, of Decker, MT. passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Heritages Acres in Hardin, MT. She was born on March 23, 1916, in Chicago, IL to parents Judge Thomas and Helen Marie (Jensen) Speer. She married Ralph “Tod” Parker on December 23, 1939, in Homewood, IL.The newlyweds came by train and started their new life at the family business, the Apple Blossom Dairy in Big Horn. Mickey enjoyed embroidery, cross stitching, reading, gardening, stamp collecting, “Cubbies” baseball at Wrigley Field, canoeing, historical interest, swimming and diving. She was a Certified Life Guard and a member of Pine Butte Sunday School in Decker, MT.Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lora, and brother, Tom (Louise) Speer. She is survived by her children: Frank Parker of Fairport, NY, Bert (Donna) Parker of Spring Branch, TX, Carol (Hap) Myers of Sheridan, WY, along with eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Big Horn with Pastor Hayden Porter officiating.Memorials to honor Mickey can be made to the Sheridan Senior Center Day Break, 211 Smith Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
