George A. Terry, 89, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the VA Medical Center after an extended illness.George was born on June 18, 1924 in Lander, WY to parents Frank Angus and Anna Irene (Doane) Terry. He was drafted into the Army in February of 1943 and honorably discharged in June of 1946 as a Tech 5 Machinist 114 from the 106 infantry. George and Cecelia Rose Crail were married and raised two children; George Dewitt (Sherry) Terry and Carol Ann (Kerry) Harnish. Rose died in August of 1993.George loved to garden, fish, hunt, hike, and explore the Big Horn Mountains.He later married Rachel Carroll on March 28, 1994.George is survived by his wife, Rachel, his children: Dewitt and Carol, his sister, Anna Mary Tossey, stepchildren: Alfred, Gary, Ronald, Richard, Gran, Dennis, Louis, Linda, Barbara, Joyce, and several grand children and great grand children.A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Kane Funeral Home with Deacon Kim Carroll officiating.Memorials to honor George may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1300 W. 5th St., Sheridan, WY 82801, or to the Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801, or to the donor\'s choice.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
