View Service Folder Harvey David Miller 7/16/1933 – 8/21/2020Harvey went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21. He passed away at St. Vincent\'s from a hemorrhagic stroke. He was born in Elgin, North Dakotato David and Elma (Hochhalter) Miller. He attended a country school to 8thgrade and obtained his GED in Sheridan. He attended Hansen Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND and did mechanical work. In 1956 he married his sweetheart, Sylvia Kautz. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the Army and Harvey and Sylvia lived in Maryland and Louisiana until he was discharged in1958. In 1958 their daughter Yvonne was born in Louisiana. They moved back to North Dakota and in 1959 they moved to Sheridan, WY. Harvey worked at Westbrook Motors, Golden Dawn Dairy, Clark\'s Upholstery, Sheridan Memorial Hospital and the VA Medical Center as a Boiler Operator where he retired in 1993.In 1962, his son Dwight was born and in 1966 his son Ronald was born. Harvey and Sylvia spent 13 winters in Arizona with their son Ron until Harvey could no longer travel. Harvey was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge, a charter member of the Eagles Lodge #4169, the American Legion, and the National Guard until his retirement. Harvey enjoyedwoodworking, carpentry (remodeling two homes), yard work, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, traveling, dancing, his family, his music, and his great- grandson, Tristan, who was the light of his life.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Marvin Miller, sisters Irene Link and Vernette Huber, son-in-law John Cross, son Ron Miller, and great- granddaughter Brielle Jacqualine Purcell. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, Daughter Yvonne Cross, son Dwight Miller (Nan), daughter-in-law Kelly Miller, granddaughter Courtney Purcell, great-grandson Tristan Purcell, sister Ruby Hoffman and numerous nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life will be held graveside, on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:30 pm,with Military Honors with Pastor Scott Lee officiating, in the Juniper Heights section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, with a cookie reception, outside at Kane Funeral Home. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
