Howard N. Holm, 72, of Sheridan, WY, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.Howard was born on May 31, 1942, in Cloquet, MN to Ingrid Alaspa. He was later adopted by Paul S. and Annie (Cittadino) Holm. On April 28, 1962, Howard married Margaret Jean (Johnson) in Moose Lake, MN. The first wedding in the new Hope Lutheran Church.Howard enlisted in the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era, as a jet mechanic and Crew Chief on the Flight Line. His life\'s work included police officer for Moose Lake, MN, Pine City, MN, and deputy sheriff for Carlton County, MN.He spent the majority of his life in Public Works in Moose Lake, and White Bear Lake, MN, Little Rock, AR, Dinuba, CA. He was Streets Foreman and promoted to Street Supt. for the City of Gillette, WY.Howard enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, reading and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Public Works Association.Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annie, and a brother, Elmer Piippo. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children, Shanna and Jeff Sorch of Gillette, WY, Chad and Joanna Holm of Kalispel, MT, brothers, Jack and Donna Piippo of Seeley Lake, MT, Ken and Claudia Piippo, of Nampa, ID, Walt and Marilyn Piipo of Drummond, MT, grandchildren, Cole and Brandan Sorch, of Gillette, WY, Tasha Dieziger of Williston, ND, and Zachary Dieziger of Kalispell, MT, special grandson, Andrew Switzer of Remer, MN, special cousin in crime, Bruce and Carol Holm of Duluth, MN, and aunt Helen Holm of Kettle River, MN.Howard is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Services for Howard will be on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Sheridan VA Chapel at 2:00 p.m.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
