Irving Carl Blaney, 61, of Spearfish, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls, ID. He was born in Sheridan, WY on September 3, 1953, to parents Ralph and Ruth (Schreibeis) Blaney. After graduating from Big Horn High School in 1971, he joined the US Navy.Irv enjoyed horses, skiing, family and grandkids. He worked in government contracting for over 30 years and then decided to live his dream of driving long haul trucks.Irv was preceded in death by his father, cousin, Kelly Schreibeis, and friend, Wilmer Mesteth an Ogala Lakota Spiritual Leader. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Nay of Sheridan, WY, son, Sean (Kate) Blaney of Leesburg, VA, daughter, Erin (Patrick) Montas of Redspring, NC, sister, Barbara Blaney of Gordon, NE, three grandchildren, Ethan, Graham, Miles and numerous family and friends.A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Paul J Cain officiating.Memorials to honor Irv may be made to the Kelly Schreibeis Memorial Foundation at PO Box 6786, Sheridan, WY, 82801.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
