James M. Hamilton, II, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, November 6, 2009, in Westview Health Care Center, Sheridan.

James was born on May 15, 1916, in Meridian, MS to James, Sr. & Tennie (Waddell) Hamilton.

James grew up in Louisiana and graduated from high school in Monroe, LA. He married Pauline Deslatt in February 11, 1932. James worked for Southern Natural Gas from 1938 to 1950. The he worked for Transcontinental Pipeline from 1950 until he retired in 1981. Pauline died in 1996 and he moved to Sheridan to be near his son. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Alazfar Shrine, Kalif Shrine and past president of the Alamin Shrine. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, carpentry, playing bridge and volunteering at the Shrine Children’s Hospital.

James was also preceded in death by his brother Waddell.

James is survived by his sons James III of Westminster, CO and William of Sheridan; five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held later next spring. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit the Kalif Shrine Children’s Travel Fund, Box K, Sheridan.
