Jay Parsons passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Jay was born on November 1, 1941 to Tom and Eleanor Parsons. During his early childhood, Jay lived in Chicago, Illinois. His family later moved to St. Louis, Missouri when he was around 11 years old.

After school he joined the Navy. Upon his return, he started working for the Wabash Railroad and met his first wife Sharon. From there they had their first child and named her Martha.

He would later move to Denver, Colorado after his divorce from Sharon. While living in Denver he worked for CB&Q railroad and met his second wife Rose. From there they would have 4 children Allen, Gabrielle, Nathen and Jeremy. Later moving to the Sheridan area and finally settling in the town of Ranchester, Wyoming.

While working nights at BNSF railroad, he was active with his union and lobbying at the state legislature.

He divorced Rose in 1994. He then met his third wife Linda and married her on August 21,2002 after being together for several years. He welcomed his 2 stepchildren Jon and Charlotte along with their children.

He later retired from the BNSF railroad in 2011 after more than 45 years of service to various railroads.

In his younger years, Jay enjoyed hunting and fishing. As he grew older, he enjoyed woodworking and model trains. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Eleanor Parsons along with his brother William Parsons.

Jay leaves behind his wife Linda Parsons, along with their 7 children: Martha Parsons, Allen Parsons, Gabrielle Parsons, Jon Williams, Nathan Parsons, Jeremy Parsons, and Charlotte Williams, 17 grandchildren,2 great grandchildren, pending 2 more great grandchildren and a brother Thomas Parsons, Jr.

At Jay’s request he has been cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for the spring time at a later date.

Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
