Joan Alberta Gossett passed away on July 3, 2022 at Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, Wyoming.


Joan was born on April 15, 1941 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Joseph David and Annie Marie (Woodhead) Harrison.  She married Gary Wayne Gossett on September 7, 1958 in Sheridan where they made their home.  They moved their family to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1971. Joan worked for Pepsi Cola in Sheridan. When they moved to Buffalo she worked for the Bison Theatre and the Sunset Drive-In until they closed in 1984. She also worked at Top Choice Meat, Alabams, Seney's Drug and Ace Hardware where she retired in 2013. She was an avid walker until ill health forced her to stop. She loved spending time in the Big Horn Mountains with her family.


To honor Joan's wishes there will be no service. She will be cremated and her ashes will be placed with her husband and son on the Big Horn Mountains at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Travel Fund, The Office of Development, Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Florida 33607.


She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle (Jim) Gill of Buffalo and Janice Sanders of Cheyenne, Wyoming, three grandchildren Jennifer(Nick) Johnson, Brian (Erica) Stauffacher and Austin Sanders all of Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Seven great-grandchildren Trea Lake, Bo Lake, Rhyen Johnson, Layn Johnson, Brian Stauffacher Jr., Brayden Stauffacher and Madison Stauffacher all of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Two brothers, Bill Harrison of Sheridan and Tom (Carol) Harrison of Gillette, Wyoming and her little yorkie Midget.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary, her son Wayne, 2 sisters and their husbands Peggy (Earl) Voogd and Kathy (Homer) Voogd and 2 nephews Danny and David Voogd.


Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
