John R. Harris, 71, passed away on September 6th at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He had contracted COVID-19 and wasn\'t able to overcome it. John was born in 1949 and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. He lived on Superior Street and attended East High School. His love for fishing was well known as well as his smoked salmon which he would share with his favorite friends. John was a helicopter electrician in the NAVY from 1968-1972. He would continue to be an electrician working for mines and would later retire from Teck Cominco while working in Kotzebue, Alaska. His routine and loyalty made him a well-known friend to many. He enjoyed home town businesses such as Sheridan Commercial, Sheridan Stationary, the Fulmer Library, and Ridley\'s. He also enjoyed his routine at the local bars. He will be missed by all of his friends on his daily route. John leaves behind a sister, Sue Harris, of Duluth, Minnesota, and a daughter Jill Verdier, of Sheridan, Wyoming, and two grand-daughters. John is also survived by numerous friends which will always be considered family. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be on Thursday, October 22 at 11:OO am at the Sheridan Memorial Cemetary. All are welcome. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
