About:

Joyce E. Clemons (Caskey), 94 of Sheridan, Wyoming, died in her sleep of natural causes Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her apartment in Sheridan. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Joyce Elaine Clemons was born on October 19, 1927, the daughter of Willis and Anna (Siefken) Caskey. She grew up on the family farm near Priam and received her early

education by walking to the local schoolhouse several miles away. She loved the memories and later painted some farm scenes. She attended Willmar High School and was hoping to go to college to study Art but marriage to Leroy Carlson interrupted her dream. Later she attended the First Presbyterian Church while she lived in Fort Collins, Colorado while raising her sons. She believed in discipline with a belt. Gary tasted leather for bad grades but Greg was smart enough to run out of house and up the street and wait for her to forgive.

Joyce was later united in marriage to Gil Clemons of Colorado for many years. They later moved to Sheridan so she could be close to her two grandchildren in Cody. Gil built her a house she helped designed with an art studio with natural sunlight. She continued to live in Sheridan after Gil passed in 2013.

Joyce was an avid writer of poetry, photography of nature (Creation) and paintings. She was blessed with good health most of her life and was always very active. Joyce is survived by her two sons, Gary Carlson of Cody, WY and Greg Carlson of Fountain Hills AZ, seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Hazel Caskey and Delores Caskey.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Gil Clemons; parents; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, Roy, Ernest, Richard, Donald, Harold and William in infancy; sisters, Evelyn (Nielson) Hample, Hazel Pederson, Dorothy Blomgren, and Opel Holmgren. Joyce was the youngest of the Caskey Family.

Joyce loved cats so any donations please send to your local animal shelter.
