About:

Lily Ebia-Mone(October 10, 1950 - October 4, 2020)On October 4, 2020, our family lost a very special wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend in Lily Ebia-Mone. As a young woman, Lily enjoyed running cross country. She loved her siblings (Walter, Nancy andGus), Walt’s fast cars and the New Mexican landscape. Early in life, she moved to California where she married Danny Mone. Together they had their beautiful baby girl, Sara. For most of heradulthood, Lily was a USPS letter carrier in Redondo Beach, California. Aside from walking the mail routes every day, the highlights of her early life included playing beach volleyball, spending time atthe oceanside, camping in Yosemite and raising Sara. After retiring from a successful career with the USPS, Lily spent more and more time on the family ranch in Big Horn, Wyoming. Time spent at the ranch brought joy and relaxation to Lily. Days inWyoming were spent caring for her property, fishing, completing intricate puzzles, reading books in her hammock, watching the wildlife, reminiscing with her friends and family, and caring for herdog, Gus. Her most favorite part of the last decade, however, was getting to spend time with her only grandchild, Layla. Lily adored Layla and she cherished their time together and the time spentwith “Layla and the cousins” (her great-nephews, Jamie, Javi and Gus and her great-niece, Naya) at the ranch in the summertime.Lily knew how to appreciate each beautiful day and the small blessings within; she rarely passed up an opportunity to enjoy the company of her family. One of her last adventures onthis earth included a road trip with her older brother, Walt, his wife (Debbie) and Debbie’s sister (DuAnne) to Albuquerque. That epic excursion is remembered as one of the best bythose in attendance. A zest for life, adventure, truth, good food and good wine kept Lily young at heart. Her nieces, nephews and daughter will always admire Lily’s strength, independent thinking, resilience, sense of humor and tenderness. She will forever be a beacon of light for them. The ache in her family’s heart is evidence of the big, big love shegave and something for which her family is truly grateful. Lily (Lil, Mom, Gram Gram, Sis, Auntie) will never be forgotten.Lily was preceded in death by her mother, Catalina; sister, Nancy (Jim) Sokolik; and brother, Gustavo Ebia. She is survived by her husband, Danny Mone; daughter, Sara (Jim Eastman) Mone;granddaughter, Layla Huizingh; brother, Walter (Debbie) Ebia; nieces, Erika and Dorene Sokolik, Elizabeth (JT) Craft; nephews, Paul Sokolik, Eric Ebia and Abram Ebia; great-niece, Naya Nitescu;great-nephews, James, Javier and Gustavo Craft and many other extended family members and dear friends.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
