Lorraine L. Duerst passed away in her home on Monday, August 11, 2014.Lorraine was born to the late Clinton and Neva Wilde on a dairy farm in New Glarus, Wisconsin on March 28, 1930, the youngest of five children. She married Melvin Duerst, the love of her life, on October 27, 1955. They were married for fifty three years until his passing in 2008. They lived in Wisconsin before moving to Colorado in 1959, and to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1971.Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother. Together they raised their six children with much love and dedication. She instilled in her children to have a never ending faith in Jesus Christ, a love and devotion to family, a strong work ethic, to never give up and always to have much laughter and fun.Lorraine loved her husband and family with all heart. She was strong in spirit, spunky, fun and sometimes direct, but she always had compassion, kindness and prayers for anyone who was going thru hard times or was the underdog. She enjoyed farm and ranch life, riding horses, flowers and gardening, living in the mountain states and the Denver Broncos.Lorraine is survived by her children: Brenda (Ernie) Wooley, Colleen Duerst, Rob (Jane) Stuessy, Cynthia (Dave) Winders, Brad (Susan) Duerst, Melaine (Dan) Davidson, grandchildren: Gina Koert, April Stuessy, Clint Stuessy, Mike Stuessy, Surrena Michels and Zach Davidson, her eight great granchildren, as well as her brother Duane Wilde and numerous nieces and nephews.Mom, we love you and thank you for all your love, prayers and happy memories. We will miss you until we are all together in heaven again.A private family service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014. An open house reception for family and friends will be held at the Wooley residence at 3011 Hwy 87, Sheridan, Wyoming from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements..
