Marshall Eugene Whiting, 92, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Friday, March 30, 2012 in Westview Health Care Center.

Mr. Whiting was born May 5, 1919, in Murphysboro, Illinois to George and Sylvia Whiting. He grew up in Denver, Colorado. Marshall was and “old railroader” having worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.

He married Bea Sherman in 1966. She died in 2001. Marshall was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim.

Mr. Whiting is survived by his stepchildren, Dan and Karan Sherman, and Priscilla Schraudner, of Sheridan, Wyoming; sister-in-law, Claire Crews, of Billings, Montana; nieces Laura Rist, of Billings, and Debbie Crews, of Salt Lake City, Utah; nephews Mike and Dustin Rist, of Billings, Montana.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
