Martha Louise McKenzie, 87, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Sheridan Manor.Martha was born in Sheridan, WY, on December 10, 1926, to parents Kenneth and Vedia (Logsden) Kerr. She married Loyd McKenzie on June 4, 1947, in Hardin, MT in a liquor store owned by the Justice of the Peace who married them.Martha worked as a cook in the Arvada School District. One of her favorite things was picking up rocks. She enjoyed her time at Day Break at the Senior Center, puzzles, spending time with her grandkids and family.Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, and a daughter. She is survived by her children: Carla (Richard) Kretschman of Arvada, WY, Loyd (Marcina) McKenzie, Jr. of Sheridan, WY, Kenneth (Sandy) McKenzie of Custer, MT, George (Chris) McKenzie of Parkman, WY, Ellen (Johnny) Kretschman of Arvada, WY, Kate (Junior) Trujillo of Sheridan, WY, Melodee McKenzie of Sheridan, WY, Clinton (Judy) McKenzie of Arvada, WY, Scarlet (Mike) Peacock of Sheridan, WY, Justin (Christy) McKenzie of Sheridan, WY, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.Services will be held at a later date.Memorials to honor Martha may be made to Day Break at the Sheridan Senior Center at 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
