Opal I. Mills Roop, 85, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1930, in Seneca, NE, to parents Melvin B. and Opal Marie (Allen) Galyen. Opal enjoyed sewing, cooking, going to church, family, traveling, playing board games, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles and the Sunrise Assembly Church.Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister. She is survived by her children, Gary (Jeanine) Mills of Sheridan, WY, Melvin Mills of Eagle River, AK, Jeannie Mills of Sheridan, WY, Lynden (Elizabeth) Mills, of Sheridan, WY and Rich (Chris) Mills of Denton, TX, siblings, Rosalie Ackerman of Alliance, NE, Mackey Galyen of Belle Fourche, SD, seven grandchildren and eightgreat grandchildren.A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor John Jackson officiating. A reception will follow at the Sunrise Assembly Church at 570 Marion, Sheridan.Memorials to honor Opal may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 1701 N.
