Pamela Rae Chavez "Pam" 73, passed away. On March 24th, 2026 at Sheridan Memorial hospital surrounded by her beloved family.
Pam was a woman defined by her caring and giving heart. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She truly touched many peoples live.
Born on September 1st, 1952 in Billings, Montana. She was the second oldest of four girls of Herry and Francis. Croft. Pam had a joyful life growing up on a ranch in Roberts, Montana, running track-and-field in school. She had a love for sports cheering on many teams. After high school, she met and married Gary Kawamoto and moved to Sheridan Wyoming. Later she moved to Ranchester Wyoming, where she was the property manager of the Tongue River Apartments for over 30years. Pam spent most of her free time giving back by volunteering at the food bank for more than 15 years She met many people doing what she loved. Pam's big heart made such an impact on many lives. She's always had such a smile and helped anyone and everyone she could.
Pam had a rare gift for connection. Pam's unique insight and genuine kindness allowed her to build deep lasting friendships throughout her life. Whether through a helping hand or an unmistakable laugh, A ride to town, or cheering on the community team. She made the world a warmer, better place. Pam had unconditional love for her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and what she was most proud of.
Pam is preceded in death by her mother and father Herry & Francis Croft, Sister Cheri Gardener, her loving pet dog Lupita, and many family and friends. Pam's smile lives on through her children and grandchildren. Son (Josh Kawamoto) of Sheridan Wy, Daughter and granddaughter (Desiree and Reagan) Wiitala of Sheridan Wy and daughter and Grandson’s (Deb Romano and Seth & Spencer Shortis) of Salem OR. Along with many friends and family.
Service celebration of life for Pam will be held on June 6th 2026, at 10am at the Tongue River Town Hall. Cookies and coffee will be after. Family and Friends are invited to join in remembering a woman who had such an impact on the small community.
