Patricia Ann Barker was born on October 19, 1943 to Elsie and John Hendrix in Denver, Colorado. At that time her parents were ranchers, and Pat was soon introduced to love of animals and the outdoors. After ranching several years in Colorado, the family moved to Montana. While growing up there, Pat discovered an abandoned fawn and begged her folks to let her keep it. She actually bottle fed that fawn, which she affectionately named “Bambi”. Pat loved living and working on the cattle ranch and was quite a good rider. She graduated from high school in Drummond, Montana.Later in life Pat married Keith Barker and they moved to Big Horn, Wyoming where they raised sheep. Pat also was quite the seamstress, a skill she had learned from her mother and grandmother. Gardening was also one of her favorite past times. Pat made sure she shared her “harvest” with her friends and neighbors. While in Big Horn, Pat was also an affectionate care giver for elderly families in the Sheridan community.Internment for Pat is Tuesday, March 17 at 11:00 in the Hope Cemetery in Big Horn, Wyoming next to her husband Keith. A memorial service is planned for later in the year. Pat was a lifelong friend of the Godley’s: Barb Godley Daugherty of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jay Godley of Banner, Wyoming, Sandra Godley Peif, of Breckenridge, Colorado and Gary Godley of Kaycee,Wyoming. Pat is survived by her brother, J.B. Hendrix and his wife, Sandy of Hall, Montana and niece Lonnie Jo Wade of Gilbert, Arizona.Burial will be held in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in Big Horn at 11:00 am.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
