View Service FolderRonald Jay Sorenson, beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away May 1, 2016, at his home in Winnemucca, NV. He was born October 8, 1961, in Newcastle WY, to Clifford and Helen (Rihanek) Sorenson. He married the love of his life Patricia (Patsy) Diane Trujillo on May 27, 1982.Ron attended school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School. Ron and Patsy lived and worked in Sheridan for five years before Ron transferred to Winnemucca in 1987 to be Branch Manager for Buckley Powder Co. He worked there for 25 years, after which time he drove truck for various companies. He and Patsy were members of Zion Lutheran Church. Ron always loved Sheridan and considered it his home.Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing,and camping. He coached youth wrestling for many years and loved to coach and watch his sons wrestle. Years later he loved helping and watching his grandson, Pete, wrestle. He loved watching his granddaughters Hadlee and Maite play softball. He loved being a part of his children and grandchildren’s adventures.Ron is survived by his wife Patsy, his daughter Nicole (Isaac) Bengochea, his sons Adam (Kayhlin) Sorenson, Jacob (Eloise) Sorenson, his grandchildren, Hadlee, Maite, and Pete Bengochea, Bailey and Camden Sorenson. He is also survived by a brother Clifford (Bonnie), sisters Connie (Wayne) Haugen, Peggy (Gary) Stanton, Corrine (Mike) Kennedy, Jim Trujillo, Nobert “Bo” (Carolyn) Trujillo, Edward (Sharon) Trujillo, Teresa (George) Sherard, Virginia (Rick) Coleman, Annette Trujillo, Mel McKenzie, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron is also survived by his wife’s parents Edward and Mary Trujillo who treated Ron like their own son. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Helen Sorenson, grandparents Christian and Arthela Sorenson, Alfred and Sophia Rihanek.A Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Kane Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Keller officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles, 1760 Commercial Ave., Sheridan, WY.In lieu of flowers, a site has been set up to help with expenses. www.gofundme.com/22erdxxkKane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
