Ruth Elizabeth Whaples passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021 at her home in Renton WA following a short battle with lung cancer. Ruth was born September 13, 1937 in Sheridan, WY to Paul Frank Sieczkowski and Iva Jennive Sieczkowski. She graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1955. Ruth previously worked as a teller at a local Sheridan bank, secretary at Holy Name Catholic Church, and secretary at Holy Name Catholic School until she retired in 1998 and moved to Renton WA. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, puzzles, crosswords, crocheting, being outdoors, and visiting with her neighbors. She enjoyed watching home improvement shows, baseball, and hockey.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eugene Sieczkowski, Robert Siegoski, sisters Theresa Markham, and Irene Kekich. She is survived by her children Jill Lison (Joe) of Rock Springs, WY, Lori Whaples of Renton, WA and Valerie Veitengruber (Kurt) of Bellevue, WA. Grandchildren: Emilie Lison of Rock Springs, WY, Asa Lison (Caitlyne) of Toole, UT, Ely Lison (Regan) of Salt Lake City, UT, Averi Lison of Rock Springs, WY, Elloree Lison (Shelby) of Rock Springs, WY, Rachel Veitengruber of Bellevue, WA, and James Veitengruber of Bellevue, WA. Great grandchildren: Adalai Shiffermiller, Degan Shiffermiller, Michael Shiffermiller and Scarlet-Rose Budzinowski.

Ruth's kindness, gentle demeanor and capacity for love will be both missed and remembered by all who knew her.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
