Sandra Ann Lloyd was born to Mary (Bales) and Mibra Lloyd September 3, 1941, in Sheridan, Wyoming and passed away at Cascades of Sugarland Ridge on November 23, 2024. After being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in March, she had two goals and those were to attend her granddaughter’s weddings in June.

Sandy spent her childhood on Otter Creek in Montana, attended Billy up and Bear Creek Schools, Sheridan High School (class of 1959) and Montana State in Bozeman. On December 30, 1960, she married Paddy Bard in Sheridan, and they moved to Arizona to work for that winter. The next six years were spent at the Hosford Ranch in Birney, Montana and they welcomed their first son, Irv, in 1961.

When Irv was ready for school, they bought a ranch on Upper Dutch Creek near Wyarno. Their second son, Gene, was born in 1968. Together, Sandy and Paddy operated Bard Land and Livestock and Bard Construction. In 2011 they sold the ranch and moved to Sheridan where they lived on Hwy 87 until Paddy’s passing in 2020 at which time Sandy moved to the Powder Horn and then to Sugarland where she spent the last eight months of her life.

Sandy clerked the cattle sales at Sheridan Livestock, was a bookkeeper for Stephens Accounting and spent 20 years as the bookkeeper at Lonabaugh & Riggs Law Office. She served on the Dutch Creek School Board, secretaried many Dutch Creek Ropings and she was involved in 4-H and High School Rodeo with her sons. She was a member of the Range Exchange Investment Club, Big Horn Women’s Club and served on the Brinton Museum Gala Committee.

“Sandy was always a country girl and loved the country way of life through thick and through thin.”

Sandy is survived by her son Irv, his wife Cathy, and their daughter Ellie (Tanner) McInerney. Son, Gene and his wife Becky, their son Brody (Shelby Morris) and daughter Bailey (Sean) Munger. Her brother Alan, his wife Jan and niece Marla Otterby as well as many long-time friends.

Sandy’s family would like to thank all of those who have called, visited, and taken Sandy for outings and to the very caring staff at Sugarland and Hospice of the Big Horns we will be forever grateful.

Per Sandy’s request, a private burial has taken place in the Elk’s Cemetery with an Open House to be held at a later date.
