About:

Sandra M. Belus died on September 12, 2025 at the Billings Hospital after being surrounded by friends and family.

Sandra Mae Webber, "Sandy," was born on July 8, 1939 to Marie Beall and Ray Webber in Powell, Wyoming. Sandra was raised on a farm in Frannie, Wyoming, that her father homesteaded, along with her three siblings. Sandy attended Deaver High School and graduated in 1957. During her time at Deaver, Sandy participated in a multitude of extracurricular activities including cheerleading, band, future homemakers of America, and choir. Sandy was crowned the Snow Queen and May Queen, and was Editor and Chief of the school yearbook.

After high school, Sandy attended Northwestern Community College for two years, where she graduated with her associates in 1959. She finished her education at the University of Wyoming in 1961 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. While in Laramie, Sandy met Jim Belus at the local bowling alley. They fell in love and married on June 24, 1961. They were married for 48 years before Jim's passing in 2009. They lived in Torrington, Wyoming, where Jim served as superintendent of the University of Wyoming Experimental Farm, before moving to Jim's hometown of Sheridan, Wyoming in 1966. Sandy raised her two boys, David J. Belus and Mark K. Belus in Sheridan on the family ranch just south of Sheridan. Sandy loved her cows and took pride in raising them alongside Jim and after Jim's passing. Sandy worked hard on the ranch and kept busy with activities such as gardening, raising chickens, and milking cows. She made cream, butter, and even sold her eggs to Warehouse Market in Sheridan. Sandy was also an avid writer and several of her stories about life on the ranch were published in the AgriNews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, sister Rita R. Wambeke, and her granddaughter Jessica N. Belus. Sandy is survived by her sons David (Leslie) and Mark (Dena), her sister Valerie Hieb, her brother Kurt Webber, her three grandchildren Bryan (Lela) and Jacob Belus (Emily) and Heather Bradford (Isaac), her five great-grandchildren Henry, Sandra, Maren, Liam, and Clyde Belus, and various nieces and nephews.

Sandy was beloved by all who knew her. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She taught her family important life skills, such as hard work, and the secret to making a good pumpkin pie. She will be dearly missed.
