About:

Serena Joy (Birchby) VanNorman age 29, passed away peacefully on June 10th , 2013 after loosing her battle with cancer.Serena was born in Newcastle, WY on Oct.12, 1983. When she was 2 1/2 years old she moved to Luneburg Germany where she lived with her parents Nick and Rhonda Birchby and little brother Alex. Serena attended German public school until she was 15 she traveled Europe extensively with her family during the years abroad, but always returned to the United states for Summer vacation. She would spend her summers traveling all over the US to visit relatives but her favorite times in the Summer were spent with her Grandpa ( Moose) Daniels at his residence in Newcastle, WY, many a time she would share ice cream with him while tailgating on summer nights watching lightening storms. In the year of 2000 she moved to Sheridan, WYfrom Germany with her family. She attended Sheridan High School and Ft. McKenzie. In August of 2003 she married James Paul VanNorman. They moved and lived in several different places before settling in Buffalo, WY to raise their three sons: Cameron, Keaton, and Kaden. Serena had many passions but none surpassed that of spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger in her life, she loved everyone she met for who they really were. She gave herself unselfishly and endlessly to those she loved. Even when being diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago with breast cancer she took it in stride and said, \"Well, can\'t change it , might as well just do the best I can.\" She never once complained about the pain that came with her treatment. She always wore a smile, so much so that if you didn\'t know that she had cancer beforehand you would never have guessed just how ill she was.Serena is survived by her parents, Nick and Rhonda Birchby, one brother Alex Birchby, her husband James Paul VanNorman and three sons Cameron, Keaton , and Kaden as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.Family will greet Serena\'s friends for a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to visit her website at www.Serenastrong.com to help with medical expenses and to set up scholarships for the three boys.
