Sherry Unger Burley
About:
Sherry Sue Unger Burley, of Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1965 in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Sherry was a woman of deep creativity, fierce individuality, and a spirit that could never quite be contained by ordinary life. She loved being “on the ranch” with her husband, Jay Burley, surrounded by the wide Montana sky, horses, sheep, and the quiet rhythm of ranch life. Among all her companions, her beloved dog Dude held a special place in her heart and was often referred to as her favorite “person.”
She leaves behind her loving husband, Jay Burley; her children, Vanessa Grove, Stefanie Stueve, Jessica Crumrine, and Jeremiah Morley; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her parents, Freda and Ken Neer; her sisters, Marie Parsons and Cindy Unger; and her brother, Jim Unger.
Sherry was endlessly artistic and talented in ways that touched every corner of her life. She played guitar and sang, painted beautiful pictures, practiced wood burning, and drew with a style entirely her own. Creativity flowed naturally through her hands and spirit. Whether through music, art, or the way she lived, she brought originality, color, and character into the world around her.
She will be remembered for her unique soul, her artistic heart, her love of the ranch, and the lasting memories she created with those who knew and loved her.
Her presence leaves an empty space that cannot be filled, but the stories, laughter, art, and love she shared will remain with her family forever.
