Sonya “Babe” HellingBabe Helling, 80, passed away at the Billings Clinic on June 7th, 2014. Babe was born in Sheridan on January 2, 1934 to Clara and Glen Daugherty. She grew up in Sheridan, however her family briefly lived in both California and Montana before returning home to Sheridan.Babe enjoyed bowling, softball, baseball, cribbage, gin rummy, and the Golf Channel. Babe was also very fond of dogs and cats and enjoyed her “grand puppies and kitties” immensely. Babe worked as a bookkeeper most of her career. She and her business partner Jack Donohue, established A Plus Plumbers in 1988 where Babe continued working until her retirement 18 years ago.Babe is preceded in death by her father, Glen, stepfather, Roy Dow, brother, Gale and her mother Clara. She is survived by her son Glen “Bud”, his wife Dawn, and granddaughters Tiffany (David) and Stefanie (Dustin).Graveside services will be held June 11 at 10:00. Memorials may be made in Babe’s memory to the Dog & Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
