Longtime Sheridan resident Sue J. Harris passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, August 30, 2012. Sue was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, November 11, 1924, the fourth child of Herbert and Anna Laura Ketcham. She married Floyd Harris in October, 1974, and they resided in Sheridan for many years until his death in 2000. She continued to make Sheridan her home until her death.
Her numerous accomplishments include being a nurse’s aide at Eventide, a member of DOES, and a member of TOPS and KOPS, attending several SRDs and serving as an officer multiple times. Her love of flowers prompted her to create beautiful flower arrangements of individually made roses for many brides in the Sheridan area. She and her husband also developed a childcare service, and each child was loved as much as her own grandchildren. Her most prized possessions were her children and grandchildren, her cats, and the royal title of “Grandma.”
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Frank Ketcham and Jack Ketcham; a sister, Margaret Walker; her husband; and grandson, Chris Robinson.
She is survived by her companion, Dennis Locondro; a brother, Bill Ketcham of Greeley, Colorado; a son, Wayne C. Robinson of Littleton, Colorado; a daughter, Dorisann Mobley of Casper, Wyoming; two grandsons, Tommy Ray Mobley, and Sam Robinson; three granddaughters, Debra Jones, Maryann Bowers, and Stephanie Robinson; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Viewing will be 11:00am until 2:00pm on Tuesday (Sept 4th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00am on Wednesday (Sept. 5th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home with The Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Elks Cemetery.
