About:

View Service FolderKathleen Susan Abbott, 74, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Swedish Medical Hospital in Denver, CO. She was born on April 9, 1943, in Lincoln, NE. Her parents were George Clinton and Kathleen Vera (Perry) Butcher. She married Gay Elliott Miller and they moved out to Sheridan, WY to eventually settle on the 5 Mile Flat near Parkman, WY. Gay and Susan had two boys Travis and Coulter. Coulter passed away a few years ago and was always the star of her eyes. Gay and Susan divorced and she married Pistol (Arnold) Charles Abbott in 1977 at Paradise Guest Ranch in Buffalo WY. Pistol and Susan had one boy, Pistol (Lance) Charles Abbott. They managed the ranch for many years and eventually relocated back to the Tongue River valley.Susan had a green hand that could grow beautiful flowers in the yard and house plants that would take over a room. She could throw a leg across a saddle and work off a horse for hours, then put on a dress and be the prettiest woman in the room. You always knew where you stood with her and she never hesitated to speak her mind. Susan was kind with a heart as big as the Bighorns but was quick to send a boy to cut his own willow switch when he needed discipline. Susan could feed 20 people at midnight in a wilderness camp after a grueling pack trip into Frying Pan lake and make the tastiest fried chicken on a Majestic stove. Hers was a good and full life. She worked hard, lived for the moment, but always looked forward to the new day, what it would bring, and how she could be a part of it. She leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled but also leaves lessons and a love that will endure always.Pistol and Susan moved from Parkman to Sheridan in 1999.She worked at Carroll\'s Furniture 2002 until the present. Days off were filled with loving friends and adventure in the mountains. She traveled out of country helping in construction of homes with Casas Por Christo. When she was at home, she sprinted the yard with grandchildren and could be found reading a book by a quiet fire- always to have a generous smile and a fresh cup of tea ready for sharing.Susan is survived by Pistol (Lance) Abbott (son), his wife Melinda and children Crisjian, Gracelynn, Cassandra, David and Michael; Travis (son) and Robin Miller and children Brooke and Allie; Keegan (grandson); Betty (sister); Maryann (sister); Gary and Laureen (step daughter) Dozier; Kate Taylor (step daughter).A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Grace Anglican Church with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating. A reception will follow at the church.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
