Susan Jennifer Rader, 44, of Sheridan passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.Susan was born to Richard and Karen (Simmons) Rader on July 22, 1968 in Sheridan, WY. She was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1986. She then attended Whitworth University in Spokane, WA receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 1990.After college Susan returned to Sheridan and worked at Sheridan YMCA for several years. She also worked for Sheridan County School District #2 as a piano accompanist and office para. Susan was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan where for many years she was organist. Additionally, she taught private piano lessons to many local students.Susan was known for amusing others with her frequent witticisms and having an impressive knowledge of trivia and, of course, her musical talent. Along with her dedication to music, Susan enjoyed her memberships in Order of Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #51, where she served as Worthy Matron and in Social Order of the Beauceant Sheridan Assembly #131 where she was Director of Music. She also played the viola in performances with the Powder River Symphony. Susan loved to travel and especially enjoyed a trip to Ireland. She loved to attend concerts and to go to the movie theater with friends. Susan was fond of all animals, especially cats.Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Boyd and Ruth Rader and George and Florence Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her brother Richard A. Rader Jr. She is survived by her parents, a younger brother James (Heather) Rader, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Viewing for family and close friends will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday May 16th at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at First United Methodist Church 215 W. Works Street in Sheridan, WY at 10:00 AM on Friday May 17th. Burial will be in the Sheridan Masonic Oblong Square within Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Reverend Don Derryberry officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 215 W. Works Street, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation, P.O Box 391, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801 or the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801 in Susan\'s memory.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
