Virginia Sams, 90, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.Virginia was born on December 21, 1923, in Sheridan, WY, to parents Floyd R. and Rhoda J. (Stephenson) Bates. She married Lee Sams but, they later divorced.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Georgianna Bates, sons;Robert Bates, Harry Sams, Jim Sams, and sister, Nevada Greub. She is survived by a son, William Buckendahl, grandchildren; Tammy (Doug) Christiansen, Janine (Dan) Ehrler, Daniel Sams, Travis, Coleby, Malia and Chad, several great grandchildren, sisters; Georgia Andreason and Agnes F. Mediate .Memorials to honor Virginia may be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY, 82801.Graveside Services for Virginia will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Gary Force officiating.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
