Virjama Lois Yellowtail Wyles, 82, of Wyola, Montana, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Virjama was born May 12, 1930, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Thomas and Susie (Walking Bear) Yellowtail. She belonged to the Whistling Water clan and a Whistling Water child. Her Crow name was Koun iilooshe “Stands in the middle”. She grew up in the Little Horn Valley, near Wyola, Montana. She attended schools in Wyola and Lodge Grass High School and Tacoma, Washington.

Virjama married Eugene J. Wyles in Tacoma, Washington on November 29, 1952. Their daughter, Linda, was born in Sheridan, Wyoming. In 1955 she moved to Nuremberg, Germany where her husband was in the U. S. Military. They were a military family stationed in California, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Ft. Benning, Georgia, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, where Kenny was born., and many other numerous places.. They spent 20 years in the military. During those years they cared for family youngsters, T. R., Delma, Tommy, Val, and Diane.

Mrs. Wyles enjoyed haircutting, swimming, canning, fishing, motorcycle riding, horse-back riding, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Virjama was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Bruce and T. R.

Mrs. Wyles is survived by her children Linda (Bob) Andrews, of Dayton, Wyoming; Ken Wyles, Sr., of Wyola, Montana; her sister, Constance Jackson, 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the following families, the Walking Bear, Moccasin Top, and Yarlott families, and decedents of Pierre de Chienne, Bazille Claymore, George Washakie, and also the Clive Dust, Comes Up and Nellie Plays families, the Scott and the Yellowtail famlies. Our family is very large, if we have forgotten anyone, please accept our apologies.

Visitation for Mrs. Wyles will be 12:00 P. M. to 4:00 P. M. Thursday, September 20, and 8:00 A, M to 4:00 P. M. Friday, September 21 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 P. M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the Wyola Baptist Church with Pastor Carson Yellowtail officiating. Interment will be in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
