William “Willie” Hauf, 88, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.Willie was born on July 26, 1926, in Burley, ID to parents William and Mary (Bauer) Hauf. He was a WWII Veteran with a Purple Heart. He was a loving father to his children, Cynthia L. Joy and David A. Hauf and a devoted husband for 47 years to Lola (Holloway) Hauf.Willie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary, his wife, Lola, siblings; Fred Hauf, Elizabeth Lofing, and Hilda Aagenes. He is survived by his children; Cynthia and David, grandchildren; Charity Purse of Campbell, CA, Matt Joy of Santa Clara, CA, Amy Brown of Sacramento, CA, great grandchildren; Benjamin Purse, Elliot Purse, Leila Brown, William Joy, Andrew Joy, and his siblings; Barbara Marosok, Ruben Hauf, Dorothy Frank, Lydia Brug and Frieda Wondra.Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, October 23, 2014, in the Sheridan Elks Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson,s Disease Foundation,1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.He will always be remembered by all those who loved him as a proud and independent man.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
