Billie L. Morris

About:

Billie Lee Morris was born in 1938, to Harvey and Mildred (Rice) Rhoads in Savageton, Wyoming. She grew up in Big Horn and was a graduate of Big Horn High School. She loved the Big Horn area, where she would explore the countryside with her siblings and friends. One of Mom’s favorite pastimes was to drive the back roads around Big Horn and Sheridan with her kids and grandkids and reminisce about her youth. On December 31, 1954, Billie married Robert Morris. With their union, she also gained two beautiful stepdaughters, Candace Nordman and Suesan (David) Quinn. Billie and Robert were blessed with six children: Dave (Pam) Morris and Mike (Susan) Morris, all of whom reside in Farmington, New Mexico; Tony (Gail) Morris of Buffalo, Wyoming; Debby Torrence-McCaffrey; Kathy (Rick) Dellit of Sheridan, Wyoming; and Teresa (Ken) Montgomery of Rolling Hills, Wyoming. Billie had thirty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.Billie and Robert primarily made their living in Buffalo, Wyoming, although they also resided in the Gas Hills and in California for a short time. They made their final home in Sheridan. Billie worked at various places, including the old coil factory in Sheridan, the Johnson County Memorial Hospital, the Sheridan Center, the VA Hospital, and Wal-Mart.Billie loved the outdoors – especially fishing and camping. Back in the day, she was often seen on her ATV or snow machine. Her most precious time was spent with her kids and, especially, her grandchildren. She always had a story to tell them and a story about their time spent together. She never forgot a birthday. Billie loved to “work in the dirt” with her flowers, sew, knit and cross-stitch. She was an avid fan of Elvis, and most any country movie or show. She loved attending all of the grandkids\' sporting events. Billie was a genuine and true person. She was a mentor and our rock. Her home was go-to central for family and friends, and her door was always open. Billie is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Buck Rhoads and Chip Rhoads; brother-in-law Delmar Morris; many, many nephews, nieces and cousins; and her beloved cat Bo-Bo.Heaven gained another angel on July 19th when Robert came to take Billie home. She was met by her parents and in-laws, Robert and Dora Morris; brother Bud Rhoads; sisters Nadine Cosco, Opal Compton, and Jean Oliver; daughter Debby Torrence-McCaffrey; and grandson Eric Morris. Services are being planned for the summer of 2020 in the Big Horn mountains, when we will ask all family and friends to join us and share our wonderful memories of Billie.
