Bobby Lee Boykin, 65, of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his residence. He was born on September 28, 1949, in Starkville, MS, to parents Emmett and Edrel Cooper Gunter.Bobby joined the Army in February 11, 1969, until December 29, 1971, serving in Vietnam during his enlistment. He worked 25 years as a U.S. Federal Marshall. He married Patricia “Patty” Shassettz on January 20, 1994, in Sheridan, WY.Bobby enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.Bobby was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Patty, his children; Scotty (Brandy) Boykin, Christina (Boykin) Moore-Buck, Daniel Boykin, Erick Boykin, his step children; Paul (Lana) Coffin, William (Carlene) Coffin, Estal Coffin, Elona Kaufman, Eugenia (Rob) Trombley, Trist (Melissa) Coffin, siblings; Shirley Petty and Ernest Gunter, numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren.A Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be at 10:00 on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Forman officiating. A reception will follow in the Kane Reception Hall. Interment will be in the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery at a later time.Memorials to honor Bobby may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
