Preceded in death by his first wife Wilma Jaqueline Holst, brother Halstead Holst, and son Patrick Holst. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia, brother Jack Holst of Colorado Springs, CO, brother Stanley Holst of Dresden TN, son Michael Holst of Wheatland, WY, stepson Ray Caesar of Newell, OK, daughter Susan B. Ward of Lake Charles, LA, son Dr. Stephen Holst of Sheridan, WY, daughter Linda Wilson of Waynesville, NC.He graduated from U of Iowa in 1950, Denver College of Law in 1955. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as an Infantry Platoon Leader earning a Combat Infantry Badge and Korean War Service Medal. He practiced law in Colorado for 50 years in Colorado Springs until his retirement in 2006. He continued to practice law with volunteer work in Coeur d Alene, ID.He was a life member of the El Paso County Bar Association (past President), the Colorado Springs Rotary Club (past President). He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills LCMS in Rathdrum, ID.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Martin Luther Grammar School, through Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1300 W. 5th Street, Sheridan, WY.Services for Dale will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul J Cain officiating. Interment will be in Coeur d\'Alene, ID. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
