Daryl Ross DalyBig Horn, WyomingMay 6 1934 – December 9, 2016Daryl Ross Daly passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at his home, in Big Horn, WY from ALS.He was born to Ross M. Daly and Alice R. (Montgomery) Daly on May 6, 1934, in Gillette, WY.He married Darla Jean Peterson in Hardin, MT on Feb. 28, 1952. Born to this union were four children; Wayne R. Daly, Ray M. Daly, Daryl L. Daly, and Shawn D. Daly.Daryl began his first job in grade school and worked on several ranches throughout his younger years and eventually retired from the VA Hospital in Sheridan, WY as the Fire Chief. After his retirement, Daryl worked for Anne Pendergast for 15 years and only stopped working, recently, due to his illness.He served on the Sheridan County Commission. He was a past member of the Big Horn Volunteer Fire Department, Big Horn Lions Club, and Sheridan Elks Club. He enjoyed driving Big Horn athletes to and from sporting events, while his sons where playing sports. Daryl enjoyed many camping trips in the Big Horn Mountains with family and friends.Daryl is survived by his wife; two sons, Ray (Kathy) of Banner, WY, Lynn (Cindy) of Corrrales, NM, daughter, Shawn (Daly) Killinger of Casper, WY, and daughter- in- law, Kay Daly of Gillette WY; six grandchildren, Terra (Roland Jr.) Price, Patrick (Natalie) Daly, Erin (Randy) Albers, Nancy Jo Daly-Kessler, Jamie (Eddie) Steward-Madai, and Jessica (Kelly) Bertagnole; 11 great-grandchildren, Roland Price III, Brandon and Aliceon Daly, Sadi Allee, Emma and Ross Daly, McKinley Kessler, Lane and Caleb Albers, Kaydence and Kannon Parke, and Keaton Bertagnole; and one great-great granddaughter, Taliah Price; two sisters, Marilyn (John) Holdiman and Phoebe Macha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gwendolyn (Loren) Whetham; one brother-in-law, Larry Macha; and son, Wayne Daly.A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Keller officiating.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Big Horn Fire Department at Box 362, Big Horn, WY 82833 or the ALS Association Gift Processing Center, PO Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN 56007.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
