David A. Yalowizer, 67, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was born on October 16, 1951 to parents Henry and Shirley (Barber) Yalowizer and was raised in Decker, MT. He attended Squirrel Creek School until the 6th grade when the family moved to Hanna, WY then to Pequot Lakes, MN where he finished his schooling. He moved back to Sheridan, WY with his family in 1969. In 1971 he enlisted and served in the US Army. In 1973 he married Terry White and they had a son, Joe. Later, after their divorce, he married his school sweetheart,Vicki Gardner from MN.Dave worked at Sheridan Meat Company for years and then at Safeway as a meat cutter. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Kewit and at the sawmill for a short time. He then opened up his own meat processing business in Ranchester and later on Decker Rd.Dave was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent several years hunting from a tent in the mountains and later adapted to a camper. He loved fishing and fished up to his last days even with a prosthetic leg. He could not wait for Spring so he could get in his boat. Dave had a little dog named Missy whom he loved dearly. When you went to his house you could always find Missy in his lap (probably eating a snack). He was very generous with food, hospitality and beer. He always had company. Dave had a unique sense of humor and sharp wit and loved teasing.Dave was preceded in death by his parents and wife Vicki. He is survived by his son Joe Yalowizer, adopted daughter Karo Hamilton, step son; Jess (Mandy) Sams, step children; Tina and Jake Sams, brothers; Mike (Bonnie), Matt (Sue), sister Dorothy Hulett, his inlaws from Minnesota; Claude Schmidt, Spark, Gail, Steve (Brenda), Scott and Terry (Stan), numerous nieces and nephews.Dave was loved by all and will be missed.A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Bear Lodge.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 710 2nd Ave., Ste 900, Seattle, WA 98104. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
