View Service FolderDebra Elaine (Blakeman) Cole passed away on May 10, 2016 in Sheridan, WY.Debi was born June 15, 1964 in Rapid City, SD to parents Dallas Duane and Jeanette Marie Hendrix Blakeman. She was preceded in death by her sisters Dawn Marie and Tonya Eve and her grandparents. She is survived by her parents Jeanette Bennett of Dayton, WY and Dallas Blakeman (Marie) of Hancock, MI, her stepfather John (Melba) Bennett of Sheridan, WY, her child Miranda Sterling Cole of Monterey, CA, her life partner Danny Barnett and her Sister Denise (Scott) Gillenwater, and their children Tony Gillenwater, David Blakeman, Taffany Hanson, Justin Gillenwater, and Sean Gillenwater, nephew Jackson Maronick (Ashley) their daughter Scarlett, niece Amanda Maronick and step siblings, Donna Roberts, John Robert Bennett, Christopher Bennett, and Allan Bennett, Sam Puuri (Ami) children Kaitlin and Ali. Debi was an Army Veteran who also worked for Homeland Security at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey Bay, CA. Debi enjoyed adopting animals and spending time with each one. Deb enjoyed travel and recently had an adventure with her daughter Mandy to Cozumel, Cayman Islands and Jamaica. She was remembered for her humor and positivity in any situation. She will be missed for the way she can light up any atmosphere and any room with her presence. She had a way with words, humor and realness that is uncommon. She made this planet a better place but will make Heaven a place for all of us to look forward to.Any donations can be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.A Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016, Bethesda Worship Center with Pastor Scott Lee officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be held at 12:00 noon. on Friday, May 20, 2016, in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD, with Military Honors. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
