Duane attended school in Fredericksburg, graduating in 1957. He excelled at High School sports, particularly basketball and baseball. Some of his scoring records are still unbroken. He then joined the Army until he was honorably discharged in 1966. In September of 1964he married Della Klink, the love of his life. They were married for 50years until she passed away in 2015. Two boys Darin and Dale were born and raised into their family and later Sharlene was welcome dinto their household. As a young man, Duane took over Cahoy Pump Services, a water well service, from his father, John. He owned and operated the business for over 45 years. Duane was a person everyone could rely on because of his knowledge, devoted service and dependability, he spent many nights working on pumps for cities and farmers when they were out of water. Today the Cahoy Pump Service isin its third generation carried on by his son Darin. He retired, and Della and he moved to Sheridan Wy to be near his son Dale and family, where they enjoyed many adventures in the mountains. His Catholic faith was very important to him and he passed this faith on to his family, he was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, WY.

Duane was the hardest working man, loving father and devoted husband. He enjoyed hunting, fishing(with little kitty) watching his granddaughters compete in their sporting events, especially rodeo. He took joy in fixing things right the first time, Marlboro lights, coffee in the morning with friends and a good meal. Learning from his father there was nothing Duane could not fix (with black tape and wire). He was the kind of guy that would do anything for you.
