About:

Francis (Frank) Auzqui was called up by the Lord on Tuesday, June 30. He died peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.

Frank was born January 21, 1947 in Buffalo WY to Arnaud and Juanita (Bilbao) Auzqui. Frank was a mischievous young man who wasn’t afraid of much. At a young age, he spent his summers on the mountains tending to the family’s sheep herd.

He graduated from Clearmont High School in 1966. Then in September, Frank was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam. During his time in combat, he earned numerous recognitions, including several in marksmanship. He was ranked a sergeant E-5 and drove an armored personal carrier. He was a Bronze Star Recipient and was honorably discharged in 1968. At that point he returned to the family ranch east of Clearmont.

He married Cheryl Simon in 1999, and they continued to ranch until retiring and moving to Buffalo in 2003. Frank never met a horse he couldn’t break, or a herd of elk he wouldn’t chase. He was most at peace with Cheryl and the dogs at their cabin on Hazelton in the Bighorn Mountains.

Frank is survived by his wife Cheryl of 27 years, children Tresea (Alex) Harriet, Frank (Shannon) Sickler, Frances and Bill, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Mary and brother Paul (Carol).

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tanya Sickler.

A Celebration of life with Military Honors will be 11am, Saturday, July 11 at the American Legion Post #13 in Buffalo, WY.
