About:

Jane “Janie” Scheuerman passed away at home on March 31st, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 18, 1948, to Gardner and Eve Talbot in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her family moved to Casper, WY when she was two and she lived there her entire youth. Janie graduated from NCHS in 1966 and went on to attend Casper College. She met Eugene Scheuerman that same year, and they married on June 15, 1968.They have two children, Denise Scammon (Randy) of Dayton and Todd Scheuerman (Tiffany) of Thornton, CO and 6 grandchildren: Austen, Morganne, Jenna, Emma, Thomas and McKinlee. Gene and Janie have lived in Dayton since 1978 when Gene took a teaching and coaching position at Tongue River High School. Janie was an incredible homemaker and hostess, worked outside the home for a time at Nutri-System and Starbucks, and was always very active in the community. She co-founded a non-profit tackling youth substance abuse in the late 80’s & early 90’s, was active in her church, and was an avid supporter of the TR Eagles. She traveled all over the state of Wyoming to watch her husband coach and her children and grandchildren compete. She was their biggest fan and cheerleader! Janie was a devoted wife, loving and encouraging mother, doting Grammie, friend to many, welcoming and warm to all, and passionate about her faith in Jesus! Janie loved family get-togethers, fishing and camping in the Bighorn Mountains, parties with her girlfriends and sharing stories about her kids and grandkids with anyone who would listen! Janie made everyone she was with feel special and loved. She battled Multiple Myeloma cancer the last four years of her life and although it finally overcame her body, it never overcame her spirit. Janie never complained about her health struggles and had an unwavering faith in God’s plan for her life. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have been loved by her, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again someday in the Home she has longed for since she first put her faith in Christ in 1974! Janie was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband Gene, her children and grandchildren, sister Pat Rogers of Council Bluffs, IA, brother & sister-in-law Kirk and Kay Talbot of Casper and many nieces and nephews. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Dayton Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Janie to the Jane Scheuerman Memorial Fund at First Interstate Bank, 4 South Main, Sheridan, WY 82801. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
