L.D. “Mike” Onstott passed away the morning of August 30, 2021. He was born on October 25, 1929, in Golden Valley, North Dakota. He graduated from high school in Gardiner, Montana where he met Reta McPherson. They were married on August 20, 1949 and had just celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They had three children, Marion, Michael and Michelle, who gave them four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

They moved to Sheridan in 1968 when Mike was transferred by Montana Dakota Utilities. He worked in the electrical metering department until he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Reta, Marion (Roger) Chesley, Michael (Penny) Onstott, Michelle Brown, grandchildren Kari Chesley, Leif Chesley, Lacey Kendall, Jennifer Lindstrom and great grandchildren Kara and Brian Kendall and Fenn Lindstrom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Inurnment will follow service in the Sheridan Masonic #8 Cemetery. A reception will follow inurnment at the church.
