Lori Ann McMullen, age 53 passed away on September 27th at the Billings Clinic following a three-week battle with brain cancer. Her children, mother, and sister were with her.

Lori was born on November 20th, 1971 to Jack and Alice (White) McMullen in Ogden, Utah, where her father was stationed in the Air Force. She joined her sister Lisa as her family moved to air force bases, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Rome, New York. Following her parents’ divorce her mom and the girls moved to Ranchester, Wyoming. Lori attended grade school at Tongue River until her family moved to Gillette where she graduated from high school. Lori was an outstanding member of the debate team. It was during high school, that Lori became an avid Broncos fan. Lori attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. She earned her law degree at the University of Wyoming. After graduation she worked for the LSO in Cheyenne before moving to Sheridan to practice law with Lonabaugh and Riggs. After leaving Lonabaugh and Riggs, Lori joined the Crowley Fleck law firm and was responsible for establishing the Sheridan office where she was practicing at the time of her death.

In February 2007 Lori became a mother to Avery Alisa McMullen, and in December 2009, Michael Stewart McMullen and Carter William McMullen joined the family. Lori loved her children, and nothing was more important than their lives spent together and playing sports. She took them all over the U.S. to participate. The family spent Christmas on Captiva Island, Florida. Captiva Island was one of Lori’s favorite places. In June following Avery’s high school graduation, she and the kids spent three weeks in Hawaii. She mentioned many times how happy she was to spend the time with her Ohana.

Lori served on boards in Sheridan which include the Hub on Smith, the Whitney Foundation, and the Children Center.

Lori is survived by her children, Avery, Michael, and Carter McMullen, her mother Alice White, and her sister Lisa McMullen. She is also survived by her uncle Bill White, Rhonda Kluess, and her uncle Jim McMullen. She is survived by her cousins and their families: Chris Oliveira, Joe White, Beth White, Tom White, and Will White. She was preceded in death by her father Jack McMullen, her stepmother Diana McMullen, her aunt Dorothy Oliveira, and her cousin Nancy Oliveira. She is also survived by her beloved fur babies, Bella, Daisy, and Ash.

Lori provided for her family and the family kindly suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to support The Kessler Family at Kesslerstrong, who bravely faced a nearly year-long battle with cancer. Lori’s family also suggests that donations can be made in Lori’s memory to the Sheridan Booster Club, in the care of Sheridan High School, 1056 Long Drive, Sheridan, WY.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 o’clock at Kane Funeral home on October 8th, 2025 with a reception to immediately follow. Following the reception a private family Inurnment will take place.

A Celebration Of Life will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Champion Kane Funeral Home with a reception to immediately follow. Following the reception Inurnment will take place in the Juniper Heights Section of The Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
