Ruth E. (Cotton) Deutsch, 94, of Sheridan passed away on April 21, 2019 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Sheridan, WY on December 16, 1924 to George L. and Edna (Swinyer) Cotton. She married Bernhart A. Deutsch on Nov 24, 1943 in Hardin, MT. They made their home in Sheridan, WY.Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernhart, her daughter Carolyn Greub, Brothers George J. Cotton, Jack L. Cotton, Roy E. “Cy” Cotton and sister Evelyn Reimers. Ruth is survived by daughters Marilyn Deutsch Overturf of Sheridan and Christine & Bob Vail of AK. 6 grandchildren Robby Overturf, Wyola, MT, Tina McDougall & Tim Good, Sheridan WY, Lisa & Fernie Lozano, El Paso TX, Justin & Janelle Overturf, Wyola, MT, Desi Powell & Zac Brewer, of Williston, ND and Reece French, of Sheridan, WY. She had 14 Great Grandchildren and 13 Great Great Grandchildren, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother she always put her family above all she never had a bad word to say about anyone she met she always found the good in every person she met. She loved going to bingo on Monday nights with her great-granddaughter, and going to Kim’s restaurant to eat with family. She taught every grandchild the joy of thrift store shopping and going to yard sales. She loved working in her flower beds in the summer she had a green thumb and had the most beautiful roses; she loved shoveling her snow in the winter, telling everyone that’s what kept her young. Her greatest joy was her many grandchildren she loved shopping for them on every holiday to have something to give them when they came by. She enjoyed the teenage grandkids dropping by to have lunch with her from school. She enjoyed holidays with her family. Ruth was known by many as “Grammie” & “Babe”.Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with gathering to follow at VFW.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
