Virginia Elizabeth Gunn passed away at her home in Sheridan with family present on May 14, 2020.She was born February 28,1923 in Weatherford , Oklahoma to Reverend Ralph Price and his wife Ethel Olson Price. They moved around quite a bit with her father’s ministry. She graduated from High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated with a degree in nursing. Her first job was in Worland, Wyoming where she met her husband, Hugh G. Gunn, who worked in the oil field. They were married in Worland on June 16, 1948.She worked until their first child, Carol was born in November 1949. Virginia then became a full-time homemaker. They had a son, George in April 1951. In 1953, they moved to Casper, Wyoming where their second daughter, Patricia was born in July. They moved to Billings, Montana in the mid 50’s for three years, then went back to Casper. In January 1960, they moved to Alberta Canada, where they lived for twelve years. in 1971, they were transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah and Hugh retired there in the mid-1980’s. In 1990, they moved to Sheridan, Wyoming to make their permanent retirement home. Virginia was a member of the Creative Fiber Guild in town and enjoyed doing handwork and working in her flower beds. She and her “third daughter” (daughter-in-law), Jenny and were avid treasure hunters and frequented the local thrift stores where Virginia could not resist pretty glassware. They traveled frequently to visit their children and other family members. Hugh passed away in 2012, and Virginia continued to live alone in her house until she passed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh; and her brother Bob Price. She is survived by her children, Carol Lyle, Idaho Falls, Idaho, George Gunn (Jenny), Sheridan, Wyoming, Patricia Goodin (Mike), of Canon City, Colorado. Seven Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons, her brother Dean Price of Sheridan, her sister, Carol Wood, Colorado Springs, Colorado, youngest brother Reverend Jim Price (Beverly), Colorado Springs, Colorado, and sister-in-law, Joy Price of Roseburg, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews Inurnment of Hugh and Virginia will be Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:30 at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
