About:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie Gould, who left us on June 8, 2025. Born on July 28, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, Charlie's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit, dedication, and love for the outdoors.

After attending Colorado State University, Charlie honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. He was stationed in Panmunjom, also known as Joint Security Area (JSA), in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea. During a visit to US Army Base Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, he then met Sheri, the incredible woman who would become his devoted wife of 50 years. Their enduring love story began overseas and continued as they built a beautiful life together.

Charlie and Sheri found their true home in Buffalo, Wyoming, where Charlie embraced his passion for fly fishing, turning it into a lifelong pursuit and a successful career. For 24 years, he proudly owned and operated Just Gone Fishing, becoming a cherished fixture in the community. He wasn't just a shop owner; he was a mentor, patiently sharing his expertise through countless fly fishing and fly tying lessons, inspiring a new generation of anglers.

Beyond his business, Charlie's commitment to the youth of Buffalo shone brightly. He served with pride as a substitute teacher and enthusiastically coached 8th-grade girls basketball, leaving a positive mark on many young lives. When he wasn't teaching or coaching, Charlie could almost always be found in the Big Horn Mountains. Whether he was fishing the pristine streams, setting up camp under the stars, exploring Jeep trails, or even trying his luck at gold panning, the mountains were his sanctuary and playground.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Lucille Gould of Sheridan, and survived by his beloved wife, Sheri; his son, Adam; and his daughter, Amy. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
